I can’t say that I knew Dave Gliddon well, but he was someone I had the most absolute respect for. A totally legit hardcore dude; who else has spent 42 days on a big wall without returning to the ground? And this… This is a photo I took of Dave many years ago on a new route Dave established near Yangshuo in China, a place he spent a long time at. The route is called Flaming Hornets, who else but Dave would have had the guts to climb up there and shove a fist full of fire crackers in a hornets nest and set it alight? Ah, good times. I’m guessing that would have been fairly typical of Dave. A truly great guy. I know he will be missed by many. Rest in peace Dave.
