Colour is a very important element of my photography but I certainly have an appreciation of black and white too — perhaps because of (or despite?) the years I spent working in darkrooms in my younger years. The Black and White photo challenge that is currently being passed around the social media site Instagram, where I regularly share some of my images, was a good reason to get thinking in B+W again.
