I Have a Dream

Thank you @jackmasel, my pleasure and glad you like the pic!

#Repost with @Repostlyapp @jackmasel At 18 years old I had my first ever @simoncarter_onsight calendar. My favourite photo was of someone climbing ‘Debris’ at Pierces Pass. The photo was stunning with crazy exposure unlike anything I’d ever climbed on. At the time it seemed crazy that somewhere like this even existed and I wished more than anything that one day I could climb as hard as grade 23 so I’d be able to try it. Years later when I finally visited the Blue Mountains for the first time I saw another stunning photo of this wall, this time it was Vince Day climbing the pictured ‘I Have a Dream’ on the cover of the Blue Mountains guide book and again I was blown away by the setting, exposure and seemingly perfect sandstone. Needless to say when Simon asked if I’d like to help him get some updated photos of the area for the 2019 guidebook I jumped at the opportunity! It’s funny how life works and how our perception of what’s achievable can change so dramatically over time. Last week @lizzyclimbs and I decided to take a break from projecting to go out here for a comparatively easy morning out, on what would have at one point in my life seemed too impossibly hard to even attempt. The 2019 guide is out now and you can find this ☝️ snap at the start of the ‘Bells Line’ section. Hopefully some young punk might be inspired to visit the Bluey’s one day! #climbing #rockclimbing #sport #travel #bluemountains #ihaveadream #piercespass
