An average photo of your typical Nowra route… But the climber, Sabine Pratt Hunziker, has a tale of survival which is anything, anything, but average.
Since I took this image four years ago, Sabine has endured a devastating 20 meter ground-fall, spent weeks in a coma and has battled a long road to recovery.
I found Sabines’ story to be heart-wrenching and awe-inspiring at the same time. It left me feeling rather lot more grateful for my average day. I recommend you read Dave Barnes’ account of Sabine’s ordeal over on Common Climber here.
PS. The route in this pic is Spare a Thought (21) at Lasseter’s, Nowra.
