Roman Hofmann making the most of a nice clear morning today before the smoke rolled in and the temperature rose again…. Lapping a V9 somewhere in the upper Megalong Valley.

Council have today reopened some areas between Katoomba and Mt Victoria on the SW side of the highway. Even so, with the fires still around and conditions deteriorating again over the next few days, you definitely need to keep an eye on things and be smart about where you go, if you go. All National Park areas remain closed. With most of the climbing areas to the NE of the Great Western Highway having been burnt, it is going be quite some time before Blue Mountains climbing gets back to normal. Patience is going to be required. Thankfully many of the crags, gems, on the SW side remain unscathed, so far. Come up and support the local businesses are soon as you can. Many thanks indeed to the firies who have been doing an incredible job now for many many weeks. 🙏🔥

Want to know which crags are open? Just check the spreadsheet here.
